Our Minister

The Reverend Victoria Weinstein is a native of Connecticut and a life-long Unitarian Universalist born of an inter-faith marriage. She entered Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, as a voice major but quickly changed her course of study and graduated with a B.A. in English Literature in 1988.

In 1993, while teaching high school English in Maplewood, Minnesota, Victoria received a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to study the American Transcendentalists at Oregon State University. Soon thereafter, she moved back East to pursue theological studies at Harvard Divinity School, and graduated from Harvard with a Master of Divinity degree in 1997. She was ordained in June of that year by the Unitarian Universalist Church of Medford, Massachusetts, having completed a dual parish-campus internship for that congregation and Tufts University.

Vicki was honored with a Feminist Theology Award by the Unitarian Universalist Women's Federation in 1997 for her work, "She is Risen: Reclaiming the Myth of Persephone as a Resurrection Narrative For Women." A worship service based on her essay was published in the collection Celebrating Easter and Spring, published by Anne Miniver Press.

Rev. Weinstein has served congregations in Pennsylvania (Main Line Unitarian Church) and Maryland (Channing Memorial Church). She was called to be the first female settled minister in Norwell in 2002 and lives in the parsonage with her cat, Ermengarde, and with all the benevolent spirits of the many ministers and their families who have resided there since 1876. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree at Andover-Newton Theological School, where she is on the faculty as Adjunct Professor of Worship and Liturgy.

Vicki still performs in musical theatre and singing ensembles whenever time permits, and is very grateful to serve a congregation with such a sincere appreciation for the performing and fine arts.
