The lead article in this years Fall 2000 issue of the Psi Symposium Annual Journal is by the Rev. Dr. Thomas J.S. Mikelson, minister of the First Parish in Cambridge, Mass. It is entitled Spiritual Healing and the Liberal Churches and was given as an address at the Psi Symposium workshop at the UUA General Assembly in Nashville, Tennessee last June. Dr. Mikelson shares how the gift of spiritual healing has enriched his ministry and the important role it can play in the life of liberal UU churches.
The next three articles give additional views about healing. Healing Energies by Anna Lee-Wood, and Effects of Spiritual Development on the Physical Body by Eileen Armstrong, were previously published in the journal PSYCHICAL STUDIES from the Unitarian Society for Psychical Studies in Great Britain. Our thanks to their Editor, Irene Hornby, for permission to reprint for our Psi Symposium readers. The article on Traditional Indian Views of Healing by the Rev. Terance H. Ellen, minister in Ridgewood, NJ appeared in the Psi Symposium Journal more than a decade ago. It was germane to our focus on the subject of healing and is well worth sharing with our readers once again.
The last three articlesAstrology: The Divine Science by the Rev. J.W. Darlison, Cosmic Memory: Extension of Consciousness in Time by Claire Strong, and The Reason for Incarnation by Eileen Armstrong have also appeared in the journal of the British Unitarian Society for Psychical Studies. The latter two articles give an interesting slant on the subject of reincarnation. I am once again indebted to our British counterparts for providing these interesting pieces for the enjoyment of our readers. As your editor I am always on the lookout for thoughtful and inspirational pieces from our own members. Please send them to me at: Rev. Richard M. Fewkes, 41 Cygnet Drive, West Dennis, MA 02670.
