Norwell Group Collected 42 Banana Boxes' Worth of Food for Pantry

NORWELL -- First Parish UU Church, Norwell, would like to thank the Norwell Super Stop & Shop and all its customers who made our part of the South Shore Unitarian/Universalist Congregations’ Food Drive a huge success on Saturday, Jan. 30.

Together, we collected 42 banana boxes full of food for the Norwell Food Pantry as well as $26. Shoppers were given a wish list generated by the Norwell Food Pantry and were asked to purchase just one item for church members to transport to the Pantry. Shoppers were extremely generous. Thank you!

First Parish Norwell also sponsored drives at two other supermarkets in nearby towns for their local food pantries as part of many food drives that day by the South Shore Unitarian/Universalist Congregations. Total for First Parish’s three stores: 127 banana boxes and $67 for the three food pantries.
