Chamber Music Concert: Viola Tango!

Sunday, November 6, 2011 at 3 p.m.

BSO violist Ed Gazouleas and friends explore three centuries of music through the viola in combination with diverse instruments. From the wit and elegance of the Dittersdorf Duo for viola and double bass (featuring our own Larry Wolfe) to the jazz inspired Variations for Viola and Four Drums by American composter Michael Colgrass, this program offers a colorful variety of music. Also featuring Dan Bausch, percussion and Pei-Shan Lee, piano. A Brahms Sonata for Viola and Piano and the Grand Tango by Argentine master Astor Piazzolla completes this festive program.

Attention all Gleeks: A bit of Glee is coming to Norwell! The Beelzebubs, an all-male a cappella group from Tufts University who provide the backing vocals for the Warblers on TV’s hit show, Glee, make a rare South Shore appearance. Held next door at First Parish Church of Norwell, 24 River St.
